Majlis Kebajikan Wanita Pulau Pinang(Women's Welfare Council, Penang) was established in 1972. A non-profit organisation, it sets out to improve the welfare of women.
It is a multi-racial, multi-religious voluntary organisation which operates largerly on public funds and donations.
To achieve its stated aims, the Council carries out the following projects:
Two Day-care centres for children of working mothers.
Asrama Putri - The Hostel for working women.
Rumah Perlindungan Sosial - Shelter for single mothers.
The Women's Affairs Sub Commitee.
